1.3.1 is available - http://code.google.com/p/openc1/downloads
Changes:
- New setting "Disable culling" which should fix cars being partially invisible if you have an ATi card
- More logging (to log.txt) which includes files opened and crash information.
- OpenC1.pdb included in zip file. This means more detailed crash information will be generated to help diagnose problems.
Please submit problems to the Issues list at http://code.google.com/p/openc1/issues. It will help to keep all problems visible :)
If you can replicate a crash in 1.3, please use 1.3.1 and submit your log.txt after the crash.

post your logs on the google page please... :(
ReplyDeleteNice work on the update. I didn't encounter any crashes in my short test runs, but I will give it some more extensive testing this week.
@dor - sounds like you haven't got your data folder setup correctly. See OpenC1Settings.txt and check its pointing to a valid data folder (for example, the folder should have races.txt in there)
ReplyDelete@harm - thanks :)
didn't seem to fix the ATI see through cars bug on my 5870.
ReplyDeleteI changed disable fog and culling to "true". It had no apparent effect at all.
Now I was finally able to run it. Nice work
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem as tributetoinsanity, but I own a 4890 as primary and a 8800GT for Physx.
ReplyDeleteoh ok now the game works but i have parts of car invisible even though i set culling to true.. like tributetoinsanity. i have hd5770 btw
ReplyDeletewell. game starts with my custom folder but - i hadn't any race game crashes. some cars in select menu appears invisible (i have nvidia). some cars (like vanilla vlad) caused permanent crash - i mean game freezes, then u press ctrl+alt+del, click ignore on appeared window and return to game and continue selecting. when i select car at last and select start race game crashes. damn.. it seems it's easy to play vanilla carma lol..
ReplyDeleteI have sent you a note into youtube if it would be possible for you to convert nfs1 track into nfs3. I doubt that it'll happen, but I'd like to see your confirmation or rejection to the request.
ReplyDeletemooore need for speed plz :) its amazing!!!
ReplyDeletealso about the tracks maybe convert them into Blender or in a 3d format to be editable for other games,is it possible with your tools?
ReplyDeletethe game doesn't even start here, is it windows 7 problema?
ReplyDeleteIt works great, thanks
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of Carmageddon and I have been playing it like crazy long time ago. I'm using Ubuntu now, so my question is, if is it working under MonoXNA?
ReplyDelete@cdar: there is only one thing you can do to know that: test it yourself and then comment here the results
ReplyDeleteIs Xbox 360 controller support on the cards?
ReplyDeletehave you stopped work on this? If so, shame. Are you going to release the source code?
ReplyDeleteI'm assuming the delay (the longest since the project started back in 2009) is related to the recent legal issues with Square Enix, rather than any difficulties on the software side of things, or loss of interest in the project.
ReplyDeleteAny chance of a quick update Jeff? Hope things are OK!
Hey man, Im getting an illegal operation error every time I try and start openC1, and would very much like to get this running.
ReplyDeleteAlso just noticed you're in Wellington NZ, I run a retro gaming site- and would be keen to interview you. The site is currently undergoing a major visual reconstruction, thus lack of updates since November last year, but I am starting on new content after taking a break and am looking at doing a relaunch and stuff in a few months, but want some buffer-content to have ready to go when it does go up.
If you'd be keen, get in touch with me at ross@retroactive.co.nz, I'm based in Welly too!
Still working on the project??, hope just some delay.
